i have officially abandoned the monkey/banana theme. i found these rad napkins at ikea and am using these to base the whole party off of. crazy, eh? i am going to publix to see if they can make a cake with at least 2 or 3 animals on this napkins and fill the rest in with mushrooms. FUN! ordered party favors the other night that are water-bird whistles. so cute! it's on!

little explorer
i swear he is doing something new everyday. i am not sure if this is safe, but it was so darn cute. i was watching him the whole time. i am sure that he is around 24 lbs. now, so this is a lot of weight in a drawer. but he is proud of his accomplishments. and i am pleased he is not afraid of trying new things. he stood on his own today, but no steps. it may take a while.

the new family bed
our ikea trip was fantastic. baby did great. this is what we bought for our family for x-mas. we needed a bigger bed and i had been thinking about getting one that was closer to the ground too. we have a concrete floor. baby can get on and off the bed on his own. perfect. and it is a queen, so lots more room. 10 inches, to be exact! sublime.
love and mess
i put a small thing of yo-baby on the edge of the table and ran to get a bib. when i came back, this is what i found. he is smart and fast now. i cannot keep up.

sweet christmas
had a great christmas. baby did too. we spent christmas eve at my parent's house, like we do every year. adrian had a great time opening his and other's gifts (hee hee). stayed up way too late, tho. went to patrick's mom's house in north georgia on christmas day. had a wonderful time there. he really likes his "gigi". also went to the annual ikea pilgrimage. awesome. finally got a new, bigger bed! yea! a queen, what will we do with all that space? baby will fill it! hope everyone had a great holiday.

happy holidays
happy holidays everyone. i am so grateful to be living in such a great country and have the opportunity and wealth that i have. i saw "god grew tired of us" the other night, and it just puts things into perspective. i really have so much. this season, i really want to focus on family and love and giving. (i had to have 4 new tires the other day, so i would rather NOT focus on that.) but we are headed to the annual pilgrimage of Ikea in Atlanta, and have some money to spend. i have been dreaming of bigger beds since i have gotten preggers! now that adrian is almost one, i can truly appreciate the size difference a queen would make. we'll, see. anyway, it will be a fun trip as adrian will go to his gigi's house for the first time. he has seen her a few times, but not enough. it is hard when we live a hike from each other. and with my maternity leave taking up all my vacation this year, i had no spare trips. looking forward to getting away for a few days. anyways, safe travels everyone. see ya'll after the holidays. hope to have a few snapshots to post of baby's first x-mas.

i'm a little airplane now
here is the finished product! the airplane is finally finished. originally a gift from breeze and stuart a year ago, craig pimped out the plane with pinstriping and initials. he is truly an artist. thanks, craig. it totally makes this airplane sweet. patrick and adrian reassembled it and tonight he rode it for the first time without help and dismounted perfectly by himself. yesterday, he was 11 months old!

Bananas! we'll see.

caps to cap haitian project
here is a sampling of my baby hats for the project. these are so cute and fast and fun! i am going to make some for my friends who have new babies too. recycling is good. you can tell which one is my shirt and which are my husband's. but that is okay. experimented with the double knot cap. too cute. my son had a few of these when he was born. so, off to the postal office to soulemama. congrats on the new baby to you too. check out www.mamatomama.org to see the progress!
