creek play

a quick play in the creek today.  wind picked up and i thought it might storm, but no dice.  he's definitely a water baby.  went under a few seconds and papa had to pull him out.  he didn't cough or cry.  such a big boy he is turning out to be.  his hair is getting a little curl in the back.  so cute.  new word for the day - boobie,  as in mine.

adrian vega - aka blue eyes

yes, we got our son's name from two towns in texas that are nearby to each other.  on the sign, i read them aloud together.  it sounded nice.  that was years ago, on one of our cross country road trips we used to take.  we liked it so much, we just knew our firstborn would have that name.  that's really the story.  no major meaning.  there will be a whole generation of kids that have unusual/non-traditional names in his generation.  i am glad for that.  i know trends come in waves.  maybe eventually we get back to betty sue and agatha.  actually, agatha sounds pretty cool.  if i have a girl, in the future, i'm thinking moxie anne or stella blue.  you can never be sure.

sweet found bird.  i think it must have flown into our garage door.  it is a beautiful unripe banana yellow/green.  not really sure what kind.  my mother has a bird book.  maybe i'll look it up.

beach babe

the gulf coast was incredible this past week.  spending time with my family was so sweet.  i am such a beach lover.  i love the sun and water and wind.  it's so fresh and clear and glittery.  it was adrian's first time to see the beach/ocean.  he was mesmerized.  through the eyes of a babe!

petals from the past - new shoot

i went to petals from the past with my mother and adrian the other day.  we found wonderful herbs, kinds i never knew existed.  it is such a breathtaking place.  magical, even.  i took some new photos of the blueberry bushes with my extra nice and brand spanking new camera.  the blackberries are coming out too.  we picked some and ate them right there.  a little tart, but golfball sized, i tell you!  i cannot wait for the black and blueberry festival coming on june 13!  i think i am going to gather some friends for some good old fashioned picking!
