baby got a new hat

this crafty mama used one of the patterns from the Crafty Mama book by Abby Pecoriello.  took me about an hour and i think he loves it!  he wore it throughout the entire Publix store on our saturday shopping trip. too cute.  check out the book.  i got it for my birthday back in september along with my Bend the Rules Sewing book by Amy Karol, who also types the Angry Chicken blog. both books are fantastic!  especially if you have little ones or have lots of friends who have little ones.  watch out, this driver is wild!  

first boo boo

my baby just got his first boo boo today.  he pulled over a very heavy and tall piece of furniture on his face.  super scary. and blood was just a runnin' down his face and into his eyes and mouth.  i had no idea what to do.  i just tried to nurse him and calm him down.  i think he cried for like 5 minutes straight.  so sad.  and of course i felt like the worst mother in the world.  my honey and i were putting together his new crib and had our backs turned.  sucked!  needless to say, i have moved that piece out of his room and may put it by the curb.  here he is in his new crib and cut!

here comes winter!

winter weather is upon us full force this week.  the temps have dropped to the 20's and the wind is howling outside.  time for the coats and gloves and caps.  it is good to hole up in the home tonight and not have to go anywhere.  life is good.

book making

been busy as a bee putting together my free book on snapfish.com from the oprah show last week.  it makes mama sad and pleased to see how much he has grown in the past year!  adrian vega will have a beautiful hard-bound picture book of his first year.  what a great deal.

well, election day has finally come!  i am so proud to have voted today.  in this historical election this year, i feel like we finally have a chance at experiencing a president that understands the plight of all americans.  it is the first time african americans have someone to vote for that represents their culture, ideals, issues.  this is going to make us a stronger and more unified nation.  i have hope.  we do need a change, and i believe it has come.  

to celebrate this wonderful day, i decided to go to the zoo with my son.  my friend and her daughter joined us.  tuesdays are half price at our zoo.  good thing!

baby dickerson

he is finally here. after much anticipation, katie had her bundle of joy on halloween.  he is so very sweet and new.  and huge!  he weighed 11 lbs. and 2 oz! cesarian, of course.  mama and daddy and baby are doing fine.  finally named the boy before leaving the hospital this morning.  welcome to this earth, sweet baby.  we are pleased to have you here...

happy halloween

here is a.v. for halloween.  he is in his highchair, so his bib is obstructing his outfit a little.  he is complete with rosy cheeks.  i guess he gets that from me.  it HAS gotten quite cold here in the last few days - below freezing!  already.  have a merry all saints day, everyone.

this too cute for words purse was handmade by a co-op of women in Nepal out of felt!  my sweet husband bought this really nice and funky bag for me at the music festival for a song!  just had to share with you.  i am not sure of the link.  i think the tag was "soleil".  

pigdog's revival

i think i can safely say right now that pigdog is experiencing some kind of health revival.  she is doing much better now.  the vet really did not know what would happen.  i was preparing myself for the worst, of course.  but i think her quality of life is much better!  yay!  we love her so much.
